>Sorry, no casting puzzles for you today.

Offers are out on quite a few parts, both major and minor, but I'm not aware of any deals closing besides the ones already announced. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe next week. Who knows? These things can take time.

The auditions for the part of Ser Ilyn Payne are the strangest I've even been witness to. Ser Ilyn has no tongue and no lines, of course, so the actors just have to stand there and look mean & scary, reacting to the dialogue of other characters being read to them by the casting assistants. No words to work with, just their mouth, eyes, facial expressions. Talk about challenging.

I know there are aspiring actors and actresses reading this. You guys have all my empathy. It's a tough, tough profession you've chosen. Good luck to all of you.<

Hi!

I read Geo Martin's post and actually I'm not sure if RA would like to feel the part. Yesterday I heard an interview where he said if he went to LA he wouldn't have trouble taking small parts w/few lines if taht's what it takes but he likes to wholly develope a character, is more interesting.
I think he could definitely play the part of Ser Ilyn according with the brief description of G.M's post (haven't read the book) not so sure if he would want to play it, just IMVHO of course.
G.M also says 'aspiring actors', hopefully RA is not considered 'aspiring' anymore...

Sorry to be negative with something you want.

Hi OML, the suggested role for RA is Bronn, not Ser Ilyn Payne who is apparently mute - what a waste it would be not to hear the silky, honey-coated voice, right?;)

Musa feels the role of Bronn would be a perfect fit for Richard. Another more controversial suggestion is Jamie Lannister. Here's a description of him from the 1st novel, Game of Thrones..."The visitors pourd through the castle gates in a river of gold and silver and polished steel, three hundred strong, a pride of bannermen and knights, of sworn swords and freeriders. Over their heads a dozen golden banners whipped back and forth in the northern wind, emblazoned with the crowned stag of Baratheon.

Ned(played by Sean Bean) knew many of the riders. There came Ser Jaime Lannister with hair as bright as beaten gold...

And another..."He was more interested in the pair that came behind him: the queen's brothers, the Lannisters of Casterly Rock. The Lion and the Imp, there was no mistaking which was which. Ser Jaime Lannister was twin to Queen Cersei, tall and golden, with flashing eyes and a smile that cut like a knife. He wore crimson silk, high black boots, a black satin cloak. On the breast of his tunic, the lion of his House was embroidered in gold thread, roaring its defiance. They called him the Lion of Lannister to his face and whispered "Kingslayer" behind his back.
Jon found it hard to look away from him. This is what a king should look like, he thought to himself as the man passed.
Then he saw the other one, waddling along half-hidden by his brother's side. Tyrion Lannister, the youngest of Lord Tywin's brood and by far the ugliest. All that the gods had given to Cersei and Jaime, they had denied Tyrion. He was a dwarf, half his brother's height, struggling to keep pace on stunted legs...."

Had included the reference to Ilyn Payne in grrm's post only to demonstrate how deeply he's involved in the casting process.

I'd wager Richard would enjoy taking a break from coal black hair if the Jaime role was offered to him - of course the bleaching process is also a nuisance (she said with the hint of experience;)

Sadly, they've already cast Jamie, the actor is Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who I don't know. From his pics he doesn't fit my image of Jamie, but if he's a good actor...?I still think Richard would have been a better choice, even with the change of hair color :) Well, I'm still hoping for Bronn really. I also once thought Richard could be Stannis Baratheon, middle brother between Robert and Renly, except for the hair issue... (he's losing his hair)...but there's no reason they can't change that from the books :) Well, just having fun...who knows who will be cast.

LOL, not so sure how I'd feel with a blonde RA, I think I'd have to see it to judge.

Bronn is a dark character right? Well, let's see what happens.

Musa & OML, it's probably just as well that the Jaime Lannister role is already cast, after having learned he and the queeen, his sister, are lovers. YIKES..incest! -- it certainly would give sisterly love a disturbing new meaning.

Both my bros are nice looking, somewhat sensitive yet masculine men, BUT having taught them school lessons & how to dance--could never look at them in that way without bursting into uncontrollable laughter:)

The latest post gives GOT details and then a poll to see if anyone has cracked GRRM's code.
