I think Dezmond stacked the cards against Richard by displaying pics that were very old, from the 2003 promotion of Cold Feet, and even that didn't help! Imagine what would have happened if he had used dripping wet Porter or some of the more recent pics? Let's face it, Richard gets hunkier and more attractive by the year! Even those who'd never heard of him would have voted for him in droves!
But why am I whingeing, it was a superior victory!
Enrich, that's so true about Richard getting better w/age...like fine wine:)
Good news all around today - US & UK advance at the World Cup - Yoohoo!! I'm about to celebrate those events along with other developments in the latest post.
World Cup! Yes! RiCrAr, I am sorry, but I am probably rooting for the U.K. No idea why. I don't even know the game rules....
But it's a trickier one than the Olympics final hockey game between Canada and the U.S. I rarely watch hockey (except when my son was playing). BUT. On the feet, singing "Oh Canada" and punching the air. (sorry again). :) The U.S. and the Russians have made our best hockey opponents. It brings out the best all over. (not so sure about the Russians, think that is probably history, for now).
fitzg, at first after reading the headlines of the US soccer win, I quickly found Landon Donovan's biography and at first thought the winning goal was scored by a Canadian upon reading 'born in Ontario'. HA! It wouldn't be the first time players born in other countries qualified to play. Then noticed 'Ontario, California'...aha! didn't realize until that moment that we had our own Ontario:) BTW, I've been to your Ontario(visit to The Thousand Islands)--not ours. Your's is much closer to home than the Left coast, as we call it;)
RiCrAr: oh I know, we're such a multi-lot! Ties all over. Actually, I think there is another Ontario in the U.S, mid-west, perhaps, could be wrong.
btw, 5.-something earthquake here over. All safe, and I gather, Northern N.Y also felt it, but pretty mild, as earthquakes go. (We had much worse about 20-something years ago, just after we returned from Jakarta posting, never having had so much as a tremor or volcanic eruption there -irony - do think thinK?) We don't have them often, but-

I STILL don't like them!
so you felt the earth tremble, fitzg...are you sure you didn't have N&S playing somewhere in the house;)
It's a 95deg day down here - maybe extremely high temps bumping into a cooler climate can cause plates to shift??
Good to hear everyone is safe.
