I have noticed that Lucas reminds me of Guy quite a lot. Ok, I love Guy and just wont let him go. Does anyone else see Guy? I would love to know!
Of course, Lucas likes to kiss the upper lip like JT, although, IMHO, the kiss between THAT woman and Lucas comes no where near the tenderness and passion of John and Margaret.
During ep4 he really reminded me of Guy. When he threatened Sarah in his apartment, and when he threatened Oleg on the phone -- I willl killll you! -- sounded like Guy in S2E9.
As for the glove scene in ep 5, certainly it reminded me of Guy (S1E7), but I'm not sure that scene of Guy should really be duplicated. Love that scene. My favorite pictures of RA come from that scene -- before he takes off the glove, while he takes off the glove, after he takes off the glove. LOL!
But shouldn't we be discussing possible allusions to King Lear so I can rationalize being a fangurl? :D
Thanks for posting the glove pictures! LOL I got so excited when I saw him do that. Love it! Sorry, can't have an intelligent conversation about anything when I am looking at all those lovely screencaps you posted, especially the kissing ones...***THUD***
oh no....don't compare "Kiss of all times" with Lucas kissing THAT woman!!!!!! Have some mercy!
Seriously, when it comes to kissing, I do compare Richard's charcater's kissing their female counterparts with John Thornton kissing Margaret. And none of the kisses even merit enetring the competition. JT kissing M is one the THE best screen kisses of all times. ....now stop gushing jtmh...wipe the drool off....be agood girl and comment on how good this blog is.
@Jtmh...Agreed! Except, not ONE of the best, but THE best! Seriously, they could start a kissing school and just use that footage! I don't usually like seeing pictures of Lucas kissing THAT woman, but that particular picture is less objectionable than most. Or maybe I am getting used to it. At first, it made me cringe and talk to the screen. It was almost physically painful! I think I felt so strongly because I was worried about Lucas's emotional state. Now, that he knows about her traitorous ways, I'm a bit better about it. In fact, I am hoping he will be playing her now, so she will get her comeuppance!
Dare I say that the kissing picture is not objectionable because it doesn't show the battle of the noses. RA's nose is great, but somehow seeing that on a woman doesn't have quite the same effect.
Someone slap me. I don't normally say something quite that petty, but her nose is a bit of a distraction. For me it's more of a problem than her character being a baddie.
Hopefully yesterday's gremlins have been exorcized and this will post where it belongs:)
First of all, Welcome back Armitage Admirer! You were sorely missed:)
Lucas really reminded me of Guy when he started yelling at the man in the pool...dragged him to the side and continued to shout and threaten violence if the baddie didn't cry uncle. It sounded just like the good ol' days in Nottingham:)
As far as Lucas and Sarah, didn't Richard masterfully handle the bedroom scene with his back to her until the rivetting moment she lied about her whereabouts when Walker was killed. His eyes seemed to be searching for her soul, but in the end realized it was no where to be found...great RA scene among many in this series.
That was a great scene. He can say so much without speaking. I really appreciate that about him. I know all of you do as well, and it's been said and said, but can it be said enough? Apparently not. :D
Haha, seening Lucas in leather stuff immediately reminded me of GoG! And I also thought, as someone else mentioned, that the Spooks scriptwriters are playing here. If I were at a university class I would definitely drop in the word "intertextuality" and try to look very smug. :D
Thank you all so much for your comments. Yes..the glove scene with Guy is awesome. I love Guy's eyes in that scene. Had he looked at me that way I would have melted and begged 'Take me, not the necklace!' The kiss between JT and Margaret is THE finest kiss in all time. Definately should be required study for all men!

Great comparison pics!
I do see Guy in Lucas. It might be Richard just doing his thing... or it may be the Spooks director playing with our minds! :)

or "pastiche?" :D
Okay, I confess an addiction to Vulpes Libris since I read RA's interview there. BTW, that was the best interview with him that I've read to date.
Bzirk, thanks for this word! I never heard it before, I guess I will have to read Vulpes Libris more, to keep up! :D
