There were more than a few stressful and poignant moments for John Porter in Ep 6. Richard's totally guileless genuineness shines through above all else in the following, as he appeared to plumb new depths of emotion. His was a fantastic performance from touchingly tender moments to those of righteous anger...

My poor Porter! I don't know why he's so emotional here as I haven't yet seen the last two episodes, but I really want to comfort him!
Enrich, I won't spoil it for you - IMHO, the Porter role gave Richard a greater opportunity for emotional expression than other characters to date. John Standring came close, but of course not nearly as mature as his latest character interpretation. Lucas' outrage at the Russian in Spooks8 struck me as somewhat over the top, but this time the degree of righteous indignation looked genuine - unvarnished sincerity. A moving performance.
