New Strike Back Trailer: Watch in Blog Sidebar (moved to above post)

Great new Strike Back Trailer moved to post above - watch & listen to RA as John Porter.  Hear him reply to the line "you might die" with "what do I have to lose?"...and shout "Just give the order!!!" or melt as our hero says to a lady in distress "I'll get you out of here." Watch closely as Porter works out his biceps...*wibble...wobble*

I was watching that one last night, and this morning, and this afternoon, and now I JUST CAN'T WAIT FOR MAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
excuse my shouting but I'm soooooo excited now..
looks like lots of action scenes, and quite a few opportunities for acting too. And he seems to have been working out ... *runs off to fetch drool bucket*

Hi TeeTotallyNot,

Yes, did you notice Porter flexing his bicep muscles in one of those trailer scenes.*faint* Wonder why it's taking Sky so long to publish their Strike Back web page? It should happen any day now. Perhaps we'll have an opportunity to air our opinion there after each ep?? Hope so.

Do you prefer Porter's dissheveled 'drunk in the streets' look, or after he cleans up his act w/military haircut and uniform? I've always been a clean-cut kinda gal...hubby's regular haircuts and tailored business suits prove it. Not that it isn't fun to deliberately mess his hair and watch his stubble grow over long wkends;) Fact: clean shaven is definitely easier on female skin.

Just watched the trailer on youtube.....aaaaaaaaggggggggggghhhh - please some kind soul must help us across the Atlantic in Canada/US see Strike Back in May - This looks so good! And not just b/c of RA but he does look mighty fine in the promos!

actually, his bicep curls exercise was the first thing I noticed.. repeatedly :D
as for the "drunk in the streets" look - good thing they didn't keep close to the book because otherwise we'd never recognised him.. Sky went for the slightly more polisehd version. I've always been one for the more grungey look, bad boy thing 'n all.. BF's more *civilised* exterior proves that I'm either good at self-deception or willing to settle for next best thing :D
RA seems to be given the chance to pull of any look (and hopfully character) from tramp to soldier to smart-suited charmer... can't wait.

Can't wait to see how they handle the 'sendoff' scene from the book - they've already teased us with that delicious kiss.

There's also the,,,ahhh,,,(trying to give clues without revealing the plot to those who have not read the book) 'crowning' :) surprise about 3/4 into the story. He'll enjoy acting out the physical torment for that scene.

Anyone know if they were true to the book's description of Porter losing a digit? All parts seem to present and accounted for in the new pics.

two fingers and a few teeeth actually. And he ends up living in the street, almost beyond redemption alcoholic.
No way Sky were going to allow that to happen :D
The script differs quite a bit from the book but I wasn't the biggest fan of it anyway so let's see what they've done with it. And when you've got RA acting you can't do anything wrong anyway :D

True TTN, Richard manages to place a unique stamp on every role he plays.

Do I see a few wisps of gray hair in John Porter's sideburns? After all, as the father of a young adult woman, it would be appropriate to see salt mixed with the pepper.

I agree that Chris Ryan's writing genre isn't ideal for female romantics(that's me;) BUT the RA factor makes all the difference in the world. There'll be plenty of droolworthy moments as we watch the exciting payoff for his dedicated physical training workouts.

p.s. back teeth wouldn't be terribly noticeable anyway. AND even they remain in his head for most of the story. Can hardly wait for SB, but it "won't be long now" (said the cat after his tail was caught in the stormdoor:)...I'm obviously starting to get giddy with anticipation.

Me-Ow!! poor moggie :D
I'm already beyond giddy.. even though I have so much TV&audio stuff to catch up on and re-watch... and that's not taking real life into consideration... still trying to find a reliable start date so's I can warn the manager of my local.. none of my friends in Berlin have Sky... aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh., I'm not the most patient person :D
apropos Ryan's writing - it's not so much the genre I mind but his style is decidedly...underwhelming. But then that's me.
and as for JP gray - YAY!!!!
