Estoy de acuerdo - casi el hombre perfecto :)

Don't make me take a trip to babblefish;)

DH had 2yrs Spanish lessons...would ask him if he can translate 'estoy de acuerdo', but when he sees 'hombre perfecto' he'll ask if we're not talking about him who might we be discussing...:)

After watching Spooks 7&8 and SB with me, he still hasn't said a word about it being suspicious the same actor stars in every show I suggest -- either he's in denial about why that's so, or perhaps he's very happy w/the effect & doesn't want to upset the apple cart;)

They're both el hombre perfecto.

LOL
Estoy de acuerdo means "I agree" that RA is el hombre perfecto. Very Nice Video.

You are lucky to have such a great guy in DH! :)

Yes, musa, I've always made certain he realizes how much he's appreciated.

How are you surviving this RA dry spell? Reviewing your fav dvds, listenint to his audiobooks? visiting RA forums, watching Richard's earlier work?...all of the above;)

Crucial question: Will Lucas 9 wear another new jacket? Publication of the first major promo pic usually answers that query. Most importantly, will his death grip jeans fit get any tighter?...is that even possible;)

Lets see? I watched Sparkhouse last night, I love RA as John Standring. I watch a couple of episodes of RH Season 1 this weekend, watching a few of his old interviews on YouTube...any suggestions? It is a dry spell, except for Season 9 of Spooks. No rumors of anything new for RA...even the James Bond franchise seems to be having financial problems.
Lucas and his jacket! I want him to bring back that peacoat he wore in Season 7. Maybe some leather, a touch of GoG for Lucas?

For dry spells, audiobooks are a great option ;) oh and fanfic, specially Guy's fanfic.

Sparkhouse was really fascinating for me, not only due to RA's sensitive John Standring interpretation but also because of it's No England landscape. Believe it was filmed in Yorkshire. My reaction to the wide open spaces was "great--there's still lovely undeveloped countryside in that region." My interest stems from the fact one set of gggrdparents had lived directly south of that county in Nottinghamshire. They emigrated to the US in 1862.

Another jaw dropping moment of familiarity for me was in the Coldfeet scene when Alona is greeted by Paul & their friends with 'hiya'. I'd grown up hearing the hiya greeting in this region of the US. Many of the C19 immigrants were English...also Welsh, Scottish, German with numerous other nationalities following in early C20.

Dry spell strategies...hmm, we could speculate about Spooks9 storyline. Didn't I read somewhere that Lucas's rekindled romance is with a scientist? Wonder how that fact is woven into the plot? Any ideas?

Hey there onemorelurker & judith :)

OML, I've always had difficulty getting interested in fan fiction. Can't explain it..just one of those inscrutable things.

Will check out the link, Judith...thanks.

I've already warned Laura in the post above that my once reliable 'puter is today acting very erratic...the huge photo of RA at the top of the page looks twice as large as usual. In his case, I could easily get used to it BUT something is obviously amiss.

Either the problem will shortly correct itself or I'll be speechless & photoless for a couple days..YIKES:O -- If it does crash, will be back ASAP even hungrier for RA news, chatter, pics, speculation, etc, etc:)

I thibk with fanfic you have to be a little 'selective' and have time to do the selection because there are some not so good but IMO most of them are between good and great, short and long (you feel you've read an average lenght book) fics to fit different schedules ;)

The disaster with Lucas and Sarah has me a little unsure about a new romance for Lucas, if he takes celibate vows as someone suggested on the Spooks forum (or was it AAForum? ...can't remember)I'd as happy :P

From all the spoilers I'm more concerned with 'Lucas is not who you think he was' and all the speculation I read about it has me more nervous!

I have a soft spot for John Standring, he's the number one of RA's small roles, it shines as Guy does in his 'mayor/main' roles.

Richard's JS expressions were so preciously sweet & naive. When Carole approached him to sell his house & marry her, I literally blurted out loud "don't do it, John!!" hehe

Sparkhouse is another RA story(besides N&S) that cries out for a sequel. Did they live happily ever after or did her obsession w/Andrew ultimately drive them apart? We know Carole's daughter developed into a fine young actress, who had the good fortune to play opposite Richard again in RH3. *wink*

Lucas might take a professional pledge of celibacy, BUT his tragic entanglement w/Sarah proved he has masculine needs that will seek & find satisfaction..one way or the other. Besides, how will the RA shirtless connoisseurs get their fix if he doggedly keeps that pledge?;)

Lucas North twitter showers(dropped towel, etc) just don't seem to get the job done nearly as effectively as Spooks dvds;)

Thank you all for all your wonderful suggestions. I've just ordered Richard's RH audiobooks since I adore his voice(don't we all). Plus he knows how to create his other characters so convincingly, such an amazing actor.
I haven't read much fanfic, but I'll be more selective and read on.
I do love John Standring, he's such a departure from RA's other roles and you feel his emotions and you know as soon as he's first on screen that John is a good man. I can't stand Carol or Andrew and I really think it's another example of how Richard steals the show from the alleged leading man. They did seem to leave it open at the end for a sequel...
I did hear an interview with the actress who plays the new woman in Lucas' life talking about Spooks.I do hope she's a better match than the other one...though I haven't seen Spooks 8 yet, waiting for the DVD! (Well, I've seen the YouTube vids of course).
A celibate Lucas - LOL - don't know if that would work, poor man :)

My initial reaction to Andrew was negative as well, Musa. That changed after receiving my copy and viewing the entire show the way it was meant to be seen. Watching piecemeal at youtube can often do the production an injustice. I'm still not certain why Ian Macalwain came to an end in the deep freeze:) Suppose the distraught husband might've had a nasty temper. haha

Andrew's decision (after the wedding) to allow Carol's dau to believe he was her father, completely changed my mind about him. After that there was more an attitude of pity towards that character. Carol received most of my enmity, but then again upon reflection, how could she possibly remain emotionally healthy considering her parentage. Feelings about her remained conflicted for most of the drama. All the same, when she spitefully killed the dog & taught her child to steal, it became impossible to grant her more sympathy than moral outrage.

For me, RA's best Sparkhouse scene (in a professional sense) was as Carol ran from the house and John followed her into the rain. The heartbreak in his eyes was palpable---made me develop an even stronger dislike for her:)

" masculine needs that will seek & find satisfaction."

Ok...he can do that (as if he needs my permission, lol!) but not with the enemy! I can't watch him being played again, he became so vulnerable with Sarah that was a little painful to watch.

I did dislike Andrew since the first watch, what totally gets to me is he moved on, had a son who depended on him, for me it was very selfish to persuade Carol to run away with him, she was resigned and decided to get on with her life for Lisa's sake while he was ready to abandond his child and his mother.
I know their relationship was complicated so it wasn't as easy to just get married and don't mind everything else, but with that each took their path and IMO they have to live with the consecuences of those 'decisions'.

I'd rather the sequel would show a happy ending. They can struggle and maybe have a hard time to get there, nonetheless they must have their happy ending,a t least John deserves it after all his done. I mean, if Carol gives him the chance, I think she would easily learn to care for and love him.

Yes, OML, I agree Carol & John could find lasting happiness together, as long as she found a way to bring permanent closure to her Andrew obsession.

IMO, Richard probably encouraged the writers to make his relationship w/Sarah one of deep, true love. He never seemed to totally accept the way the RH writers had conveniently eliminated Marian by means of Guy's temper & sword. Perhaps RA felt his next romantic entanglement should not appear to be shallow or callous, but rather one of sincere loving warmth. Was it his or the Spooks writers' idea to have Lucas mutter "take me with you" after he learned Sarah was deeply involved with the Nightingale Group?
