Richard Armitage--NZ Ski Report + Beethoven With An Edge + Back to the Future:N&S Interview + New Years Kisses + Does He Remind You of RA Poll + Richard Armitage RAndom Pix in Review + New N&S Vid

Do believe I've stumbled upon a new addiction--notice however that he wasn't placed in the top position*cough*;)  Don't know anything about him other than he managed to improve on that which one would think it would be impossible to do--reserving final judgement pending further research..

Flashback to New Years 2010
This new vid seems rather somber for New Year's Eve, but as twitter Lucas recently reminded us as he wiggled his furry hobbit feet(rather than furless dwarf feet:) the best spy ever is only on sabbatical.  He'll be reincarnated as MiddleEarth's almost 5ft tall dwarf, Thorin Oakinshield..

Appears someone really enjoyed his wassailing as promised;)

When I heard the words "he lived on a page for 150yrs," I was firmly hooked. Great interview giving Richard's thoughts and feelings about North and South(by HeathDances)
North and South vid 'Halo' by missdorrit93..

In a comment below, Sue said that Brit actor Luke Roberts reminds her of RA.  Took a look at the photos available at the link she provided, and reached the conclusion that Luke's eyes now and then seem to reflect expressions similar to Richard's.  Apparently Mr Roberts stars in an afternoon 'story' as a doctor -- peeked at an excerpt on youtube and did not find his style of acting mindful of RA's in that particular clip.  In the on-going quest to discern if Luke & Richard are similar in any other way, found the following interview from a morning show.  Here are a couple photos and the interview - do you find Luke Roberts reminds you of RA?  Please give your answer in the latest poll...

Thank you Sue, for the link to NZ ski information.  No doubt we know who will, in the not to distant future(if not already:) be enjoying a downhill run -- perhaps at Porters?...really! see below pic:
New Zealand: Seriously Fine Skiing, Riding In The Southern Alps -
The Southern Alps of New Zealand provide some seriously fine skiing and boarding with five hundred kilometres of mountain ranges splitting the South Island from north to south like a spine. The majority of the commercial ski fields are found around the alpine tourist resort town of Queenstown, which sits on the shores of Lake Wakatipu and is more suited to the Swiss Alps than antipodean lands.

Four commercial fields sit within driving distance of Queenstown.
Broken River, Temple Basin, Porters, and Cheeseman are all worth a look.

RiCrAr,

Now we can see the photo's side by side, so to speak, of Luke Roberts and Richard, I'm afraid Luke is far to poe faced and miserable looking. Richard always manages to have a twinkle in those blue eyes of his. He's also too posh by half for my liking too! Never mind, there's nothing like the real thing is there!

We're agreed on "nothing like the real thing" Sue. That was my reply a couple yrs ago when first asked in a forum which was my fav RA character:)

Discovering Richard reopened doors I'd closed at least a decade ago when it came to actors and dramatic offerings in general. I'd been disappointed by so many others that an automatic skepticism had set in. Now, I'm willing to at least try a new TV program(and occasional film) feeling there's the possibility another person worth the time might surface. However, in the past two years, it has not happened. Appears Richard has spoiled us and it seems whenever we decide to 'dabble' eslewhere, the latest distraction always falls short in comparison to him, doesn't it;)

Don't know if the US show 'White Collar' is available in England. If it is, let me know your opinion of Matt Bomer. He's the only one so far who has come somewhat close, IMO, to RA when it comes to quality acting, intellligence, stunningly handsome package - accompanied by a charming contained ego. That's really a heady & rare formula, isn't it:)...only found in a select few entertainers on the planet.

Enjoy greeting 2011 - both hubby and my families had the tradition of going outside at midnight and using whatever is available to make loud noises - I've seen shows explaining the significance of scaring away evil spirits for the new year. Then tomorrow we'll enjoy the traditional Pennsylvania Dutch meal of pork & sauerkraut...also guaranteed to ward off bad luck. haha...if only, it was ironclad;)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Hope RA is Wassailing and having a great time before going off to Middle Earth. We all know he'll have a busy 2011 ahead and hope he loves every minute of it :)

Happy New Year to you as well, Musa:)

Only 2.5hrs to go until the Waterford crystal ball falls in Times Square. For a change, the crowd won't freeze while waiting - it's about 45deg. A real heat wave for Jan, as you know.

We ended 2010 with a bang today--our fav football team won the bowl game.

Received a note today from my sister thanking us for their Xmas gift, which was Robin Hood, series 1. Will expand on it here tomorrow.

Hope the new year is good to you and all your hopes and dreams come true.

Been running around doing the family thing, but I wanted to stop in and offer my belated Merry Christmas, and a 3-hour-early Happy New Year to you Ricrar! I know I don't comment often, but I want you to know that your site brings a smile to my face daily!

Happy Year of The Hobbit! I think you need to copyright that RicRAr.

Does it count if I gifted myself some RA audiobooks/DVD's???? LOL Glad your sister liked RH.

The photo of RA in a robe, reading the paper, with glasses, what is that from? He looks so cute with glasses always.

Thx for the kind words, Laura. Hope 2011 is a happy & prosperous one for you:)

Musa, Yes--gifting yourself counts..in fact twice. Starting to follow the hunkies voting principals:)

I don't know where the robe photo came from originally - will need to look into it and get back to you on that one.

Yes, my sister really sounded as though she'd enjoyed RH1. She breezed through it in less than 10days and had started on the second viewing. So, it would appear she definitely enjoyed it. I was concerned it might be a bit immature for her. She's not one to suffer any silliness, but has always been an anglophile(much more so than me until RA came along:) given our family history.

I've 11mos to make the decision whether to send RH2 or Spooks 7 to her next Christmas..won't rush to judgement;)

p.s. she still hasn't mentioned relishing Richard more than anything else in RH and N&S. One day when we're alone together, her hubby out of earshot, will grill her unmercifully - probably will get the admission at long last that she fell under JT/RA's spell a couple yrs ago while watching N&S at least a dozen times in a row;) *the clues tell all*

I think if your sister watched N&S a dozen times, the proof you want is there :)

I'm likin' this David Garrett guy... I clicked on some of the YouTubes of him. He's a little cheesy in some of it (Thun-Der!!), and I'm not sure what the point of those dancers were in Beethoven's 5th, but he has a very "Trans-Siberian Orchestra" feel to his work. Pretty cool.

Ricrar said...

Musa, the irking thing is that she never ever says "isn't Richard a hunk." Because she's lives at such a distance, we rarely are in each others company and when we are our husband are there.

When the opportunity arises, I'll squeeze the admission out of her:) She's always been the sensible, level-headed older sister -- suppose that's the reason I'm anxious to hear her confess that she's addicted to a certain actor. Perhaps if she realized he must have millions of fans worldwide enjoying the same obsession she'd finally say the words.

Not that it bothers me in the least...haha It has now become a mission on my part to get her to say "Yes, I admit it!..he's gorgeous and sexy..drool, drool." It would probably feel like someone standing and admitting they're an alcoholic for the first time. *funny mental picture*

Yeah Laura - Garrett really makes that fiddle sing, doesn't he.

The bare chested dancers made me wonder if David attracts a certain crowd(having a rare pc moment here:), which is the reason I've stepped back and decided not to swoon until there's time to gather more information. There are many other examples of his unique talent on youtube.
