Richard Armitage:Lovely 2016 Calendar from RAC(see link) + Irish Examiner--Brain on Fire Mention + The Saga of the Dictator Who Was Inspired to Play Heinz Kruger

Handsome 2016 Calendar from:
New War and Peace adaptation begins Jan 18 in USA..
Mr Wiki on Richard Crispin Armitage. Ignore Guy of Geesborne and Vicar of Deeply ;D
Brain on Fire, which was directed by Irish filmmaker Gerard Barrett, is based on the award-winning and bestselling memoir of Susannah Cahalan who wrote a powerful account of her struggle to recapture her identity.
The film’s synopsis describes the film’s plot as “A look at a young woman’s rapid descent into insanity”, and is set to star Hollywood actress Chloe Grace Moretz as the film’s protagonist alongside Carrie-Anne Moss, Richard Armitage, Thomas Mann and Tyler Perry.
The film is currently in post-production and is yet to announce a release date, but we can expect to see this hit our screens at some stage this year.
Methinks a particular dictator must have become aware of a certain actor when he visited Moscow(above) for a Spooks episode. Apparently the former then watched Captain America, and this past  summer was inspired by RA's Heinz Kruger to restage the hydra submarine scene;) See photos and news article below.

New Chris Evans movie..RA introduced me..had never heard of Chris before Capt America.  This one looks hilarious...great rom-com premise...

It's an RA maze...everywhere I turn leads back to a connection of some sort.  Co-star of the above Chris Evans film tries to snag Martin Freeman's character by feigning a British accent *chuckles* which morphs into Liza Doolittle later in the evening - she starts quoting My Fair Lady song lyrics...

Spooks Past Posts + Link to Sunday Express Comments(see below) + RA's Thank You + Catching Up on Birthday FanVids

NEWS:  RichardArmitageNet website(see below link) reports today the complimentary remarks included in a UK Sunday newspaper about RA's Lucas North performance...
Quote: 28th August

David Stephenson of the Sunday Express has reviewed Strike Back series 2, with a few paragraphs discussing Richard's career. "Armitage has now moved to films in the form of The Hobbit but we look forward to him appearing in a spy drama again on TV. He is strangely more believable and effective than the real thing."

Dear Friends,

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for all the kind gifts which have been sent to me over the last few weeks, for my birthday; so many gifts, cards and emails of good wishes from all over the world. (Poland, Ukraine, Japan, Russia, Germany, Korea, Itlay, USA, Canada, Netherlands and all over the UK)

I will be so 'well read', drunk, fat, warm and sweet smelling thanks to your generosity.

I am particularly excited to let you know that the "Just Giving" donations to our four charities has reached an amazing £11,933! In addition to donations to Oxfam and Christchurch Earthquake appeal, which I find both thoughtful and moving.

I am afraid there may be some delay in remitting thank you letters and any requests for signing photos, as I am in New Zealand for the rest of the year, but am working on a system to remedy this.

So middle age has arrived and apparently 'life now begins'. I look forward to the next chapter, there is nowhere I would rather be at this moment than exploring "Middle Earth" with my new family of Dwarves, Elves, Men, Wizard and Hobbit. What a gift to be here, in this place, at this time. I can't wait to share it with everyone. I am a very fortunate man.
Much love
RA

Capt America Fanboys Wax Orgasmic over Film (see Heinz Kruger) + Strike Back Stuntman Quote: "Richard Armitage..is a gentleman" + Stubble, Stubble, Drool and Mumble + Mystery: HenryVIII's Love Letters to Anne Boleyn Found Where??

Comic geeks, including a couple screenwriters,  admit to being fanboys over Capt America - See RA about 3:50 and repeats.
They analyze scenes and characters in-depth, including Heinz Kruger but usually don't mention actors names.  The language gives you an idea just how excited they are about seeing their comicbook heroes come to life.  At one point the commentator says "even if you've never 'done' Capt America before"...haha...that term is usually reserved for dating situations.  Don't they sound downright orgasmic over the film?  They have their priorities - we have ours:)

NEWS:  Stuntman Mick on Chris Ryan's Strike Back
Question #10: A lot of us are Richard Armitage fans. What was he like to work with?

QUOTE: Mick Milligan: Richard is a gentleman. He did well in doing a lot of the fight sequences himself for the sake of character authenticity. For the duration of the shoot he lived John Porter. I think he even surprised himself. Easily one of my favourite actors. He's one of us.

LOVE LETTERS MYSTERY:  Initially mentally filed under huh? What? Where? Why? hmmmm.  Love letters from HenryVIII to Anne Boleyn were found in, of all places, The Vatican Library.
After some reflection it became evident that it really wasn't all that amazing afterall.  They were probably sent there as evidence by those who did not want the king to receive a dispensation from the Pope in order to divorce his first wife.  Fascinating indeed...The Tudors series demonstrates the eternal truth of President Harry Truman's words "the only thing new in the world is the history you don't know."

More I read about Chas Brandon, more I realize he was exactly the type of character RA prefers playing -- morally conflicted, complex personality.  Shades of light and dark with ever more evidence accruing on the dark side...

The Willoughby name is prominent in The Tudors series.  Brandon's 4th wife was Catherine Willoughby...
Capt John Smith, founder of the first permanent settlement in America (Jamestown, VA) was born in Willoughby, Lincolnshire, England. His father rented land from the Willoughby family.
                   http://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/John_Smith_of_Jamestown
Steeped in history, Alford, Lincolnshire is a town that claims links with US Presidents. It was thebirthplace of female preacher and ‘first American feminist’ Anne Hutchinson,
who founded the State of Rhode Island and from whom Presidents Roosevelt and
Bush are said to be directly descended.  Alford is also where New World adventurer Captain John Smith first went to school in the 16th century. Smith was born in nearby Willoughby and the
welcoming parish church of St Helena still has the same font today that was used to baptize him in 1580.

Filed under Life's pleasureable li'l moments:  This evening we watched ep 4 of the series - called Sharpe's Gold.  The plot became rather gruesome halfway into the story; however, we really enjoyed one of the earlier scenes.  A young woman had reason to join the brigade during their mission in Spain.  She was keen on practicing marksmanship and explained to Capt Sharpe that her rifle was American.  Then she added "made in Pennsylvania" to which Richard replied "even better."  Hubby and I simultaneously threw our arms in the air and yelled "Yay!"  We were both so surprised to hear those lines exchanged as we sat in our family room in Pennsylvania enjoying the British saga of the early 1800s Napoleonic Wars.  HA!  Small world indeed;)

Back to the real world - following is hilarious and unfortunately not far from the truth, if wrong-headed power-hungry liberal politicians ever  get their way.  They believe it's the government's right to track every step of your life - that's the slippery slope to waving goodbye to personal freedom...

Hungarian Newspaper Comments + Latest Edition:Hobbitin5 + Moviefone Website Refers to Nasty, Nazi Scumbag:) + The Longing by JulietD001 + YIPPEE! Heinz Kruger Photo--Everyone on the Dancefloor..Let's Move It!!:)

A Hungarian newspaper reviewed Robin Hood, which was filmed there - following excerpt from the translation graciously provided at link below...

[Translation: When evil takes it all With Richard Armitage, the actor playing Sir Guy of Gisborne, a new Mr Darcy was born. The actor, who mainly displayed his talents on the British stage, was discovered by television in 2004. He achieved a breakthrough as the noble-hearted but scowling textile manufacturer in the drama serial based on the novel North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell, a 19th century British Romantic writer... He appeared in several series of Spooks (only some of which have been shown on our screens), and in the action series Strike Back, which was a big success last year in the UK, and where he was admired for rock-solid action scenes and character development as John Porter, an ex-SAS officer who had served in Iraq. Now he's shooting Captain America, a movie based on a comic strip, and he has a leading role in the new Tolkien adaptation, The Hobbit. Soon the name Richard Armitage will no longer be primarily associated with the ex-Deputy Secretary of State of the USA.]

Sincere thanks for the translation - provided at http://www.acemarsupial.co.uk/

Channing Tatum comments on his latest venture and in the process makes it clear that he's another hottie actor who has managed to keep his ego in check
despite all the public adulation.  He describes his upcoming film and rationalizes why it has compelled him to watch -  although at first he was nonplussed by the genre in general..

  >Channing Tatum was interviewed by Collider when they got onto the subject of Steven Soderbergh’s Haywire. That is the film that stars Gina Carano as a spy who goes on the run.

Being a Soderbergh movie you know it will be a bit different from the other spy movies and that seems to apply to the soundtrack.  The subject cropped up when Collider asked if Haywire would be shown at Cannes.

Tatum: Maybe. I don’t know what’s going on with it - they[studio and director] might have been disagreeing because he scored the entire movie like a spaghetti western. Literally I get out of the car and [the actor whistles like he's in a Clint Eastwood-Sergio Leone film] ..I don’t know if this works but it’s frickin’ awesome. It sounds great - that’s Soderbergh, you can’t really put him in a box. You can’t put him in a genre or a type. He’s going to do Soderbergh. I can’t wait - haven’t seen the movie yet.

What’s your character?    Tatum: I play a Blackwater agent. We are commissioned to kidnap someone - everything goes wrong in a way, and Gina Carano who plays the lead character is set up for it. It’s sort of like a female Bourne Identity. My wife always hates when I say “just don’t love female action movies!” I don’t know why - just don’t rush to see them.  I said "if they'd find a girl that can, pardon my French, whoop my ass then I will go to the movies and watch it. They did! They found one. And she did! It  was awesome - I truly loved it! So yeah,  can't wait to see it myself to be totally honest."<
The Playlist have the news that Haywire will be released on 22 April 2011.

From website linked below:  Hopeful for Action Soon at Hobbiton
February 4th, 2011 -  The bickering is over, the director is on the mend, and The Hobbit is about to start shooting. Hobbiton, near Matamata, has announced it will be closed for five weeks from February 14. While Matamata locals were tight-lipped about any goings-on, Matamata-Piako Mayor Hugh Vercoe confirmed filming was due to start and that the Hobbiton site – used for Shire scenes in The Lord of the Rings and now rebuilt for The Hobbit – would be a closed set.
“I’m just aware that filming is about to start,” Mr Vercoe said.
