@merilyn066 Many actors have photo approval. Which is why the process takes a while.

[R: really like this concept of photo approval, but hubby would never agree...it would take half the fun out of his life if he couldn't snap a pic or take a vid of me when I've just woken up or ravenously licking an ice cream cone as if I've not eaten for a week]

@merilyn066 Got some great shots of Mr. Armitage for later reports if he and the production give the thumbs up.

Look forward to reading the new report.

Interesting new photo's of Thorin. I particularly like the one where Richard/Thorin is holding his great big chopper in his hand!!!!

Lol Sue :) The Thorin shot (with his large weapon) is one of the captures from the last PJ Vblog. Doesn't Richard look more like himself in that one than in the majority of other Thorin pix to date?

Eric says the pix approval could come any second or take 4 days. As usual, we patiently(might be a stretch:) wait.

Will post them here asap after they're available at Vespe's blog.

Re your previous post - I do remember Richard saying the fact he sprouted to 6'2" at 14yrs old prompted many people to treat him more as an adult than a teen during those sensitive formative years.

RiCrAr,

It looks like Peter Jackson is taking great care not to reveal too much about the ending of the story for TH, hence scrutinising any pics that are released.

I remember Richard mentioning that particular time in his life. I must admit I got the impression (rightly or wrongly) that he had a pretty rough time as inside he was still very much a little boy while on the outside he appeared to be a hulking great man. I think he is still very much that little boy inside even at the age of 40.

As I recall, during one StrikeBack interview, he replied to the reporter's query that he'd felt behind in social development by at least a decade, but that he finally felt as though he'd recently blossomed.

He was promoting the SB series and might've already received word he'd won the Thorin role. Perhaps all the positive career progress and possibly personal developments had prompted a cooler, more confident attitude.

Although, IMO, whenever the camera starts to roll - whether during an interview or for a role - he always has come across to me as perfectly comfortable in his own skin. I'd always ascribed any self-deprecating remarks to his charming sense of humor.

About to check whether Eric has posted his latest blog post with pix. *fingers crossed*

RiCrAr,

I agree to a certain extent that some of his "self-deprecating remarks" can be attributed to "his charming sense of humor", although I think there is a little self-doubt that manages to creep in now and again despite this.
