Drop Dead Gorgeous Friday + The Tudors Season 1

Want to thank someone(you know who your are:) for providing a link to photos we've seen before (most of them anyway) but a few vantage points are new to me.  Plus the following humungous pix are to die for...enjoy!

Never saw this shot from this particular photo session..IMO, it's the best one - the others make RA's head look somewhat top heavy

Very first one above and the one below are other angles I'd never seen from two different photo shoots - IMO they're the best of both lots :)

We have Richardbabe to thank for the excellent manip below.  She certainly fooled me:)

Have Mercy on Me: Sir Guy of Gisborne (Richard Armitage fanvid) from angie long on Vimeo.

O.K. now the world is reallllly getting unbelievably small...although must admit this one is in a rather nice way.  See the drapes behind Sir Guy in the Some Like it Hot video?  Well, at least a year ago, I bought new drapes for our living and dining rooms.  Life became very busy and the drapes got shoved back in a corner of the basement until last evening.  I finally pulled them out  with intentions to hang, but kept asking myself..."why the heck do they look so familiar?"  The reason is because they're the exact same pattern as in Sir Guy's below. *unblievable* The burgundy color goes beautifully with our rugs.  Will never look at them again without thinking of the prince of black leather. One of the sweet serendipities in life:)

Recap: Season 1 Episode 1 - King Henry VIII, the young ambitious monarch of England, prepares for war with France but is dissuaded by the diplomatic manipulation of his powerful Lord Chancellor, Cardinal Wolsey, who proposes that the King sponsor a "Treaty of Universal Peace."
The harmony of the King's domestic affairs is threatened, however, when he discovers that Elizabeth Blount, the young and beautiful lady-in-waiting to his Queen, Katherine of Aragon, is pregnant with his child.

Does Steven Wadington, the actor playing Edw Stafford, look familiar to you?  He played the king in RH II.
Edward Stafford, 3rd Duke of Buckingham (Steven Waddington) Henry VIII was both jealous and suspicious of Edward due to his wealth, land, and royal blood. He had deep connections with the nobles who were unhappy with the growing influence of "low-born" men, in particular Cardinal Wolsey. Edward was accused of listening to prophecies about the King's death and tried for treason. The charges were most likely false, but let's face it, Henry had already decided what the outcome would be...

Religion -Hugh Bourne, founder of Primitive Methodism
Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire  - Primitive Methodism was founded by Hugh Bourne, a native of Stoke-on-Trent, at a public gathering in the nearby village of Mow Cop. He originally followed the Wesleyan form of Methodism but in 1801 he reformed the Methodist service by conducting it outside. By 1811 with his brother he founded the first chapel in Tunstall. He promoted Sunday schools as a method of improving children's education as well as treating women as equals. He also was involved in the temperance movement. It was from the Primitive Methodists that many early trade unions found their early leaders.]

[family History: Those of my ancestors who were coal miners (they were also Primitive Methodists--helped build first PM church in their newly adopted community),  would be horrified to learn my opinion of unionization in C21.  Don't believe in it - it provides mediocre results from everything it touches.  Yes, it was necessary in C19 and even up until mid C20.  But that is no longer true.

Between the Prim Meth directive to treat women as equals and the fact the other branches of my family tree emigrated from Ireland (where from the beginning of recorded history female monarchs were common) I now understand my earliest strong conviction that women can do anything they desire in this world, once they set their minds to it.]

The English coal miners were identified as having lived, if Prim Meth church records are to be believed, in Selston, Nottinghamshire as early as 1720.  IMO, prior to that they had emigrated from either Cornwall or Wales seeking employment in the numerous northern England coal collieries.     http://www.nottsheritagegateway.org.uk/themes/coal.htm

Most ogle worthy in The Tudors: Henry Cavill as Chas Brandon
Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk (Henry Cavill) Though seven years older than Henry, Charles shared many characteristics - natural athleticism, robust physical health, and a devotion to all sports. During their adolescent years, the boys laid the foundation for a lifelong friendship. Brandon may have been the only person in all England who never fell out of his favor in more than 40 turbulent years.

Richard looks quite baby-faced in some of these photographs. I know some are quite old, which makes you realise he seems to get better looking as the years progress (lucky devil).

As for the kinky quiz, I think I'd better leave that well alone, if I'm thinking of Richard while I answer them I'll probably blow up my computer.

On the subject of kinky and our Richard, I've just come home after picking a few kilos of ripe, juicy, delicious strawberries. Now just imagine my two favourite things Richard and strawberries, how could I combine the two? (Yikes steam is coming out of my computer at the very thought!) I wonder if Richard likes strawberries? Remember Jonas Armstrong as Robin Hood feeding some very large strawberries to Guy's sister during that heatwave? Add a little cream and hey presto one hell of a desert! (And I'm not just talking strawberries and cream here!). Well it is the Wimbledon season over here yer know!)

Ricrar, haven't seen that first one of him on the chair in the white shirt before! Where did you find that one?

Ricrar said...

MsG, the first pic was given to me by a dear friend. She said she found it on facebook. No idea when it was taken - wonder if there are any others from that particular photo session.

Sue, thought you'd appreciate the fact that I often include a convenient pressurized can of real whipped cream when dh & I take an overnight excursion. teehee;) Imagine a strawberry strategically placed w/a dollop of yummy whipped cream on top....irresistible...and lo-cal:) Chocolate syrup tends to be messy - best to leave that one at home. hahaha...ooh, we are getting into wkend mode, are we not?

Hiya RiCrAr! First of all I wanted to tell you that I absolutely love your blog. I usually have a look at it nearly everyday. Well, the first piccie of Richard sitting on a chair. It´s a manip. Yeap, I know for sure because it´s a manip of mine. My nickname is Richardbabe and you can find this manip posted on my manips thread on Richard Armitage Central. I feel really happy as everybody thinks it´s a real piccie! Glad you have posted one of my doodles on your blog, thank you so much hun and keep up the good work. Tons of love,

That is one excellent manip, Richardbabe :) I even thought to myself - look how that well-tailored shirt shows off RA's long, slender waist. Thx for stopping by and for the kind words about my blog - very much appreciated. Don't be a stranger in the future:)

Sue, I meant to add to my last post that the calories in the whipped cream can be conveniently worked off. *wicked wink*

[note to self..restock all the RA's Hard Lemonade we must've had to drink here this week;]

Ah, so the first one is a manip. Well done Richardbabe, I thought it was all RA :)

OOO MYY GOOOD-happy sigh:)
So,this is a manip-great work:D

I wondered about the white shirt one as I thought the thighs looked quite a bit thinner, the chest and shoulders less broad and the jeans darker than he normally wears :) Could the "body" belong to Hugh Jackman originally? Just askin' ;)

Ricrar said...

Hopefully Richardbabe will return to answer your question. IMO Hugh & Richard's bods are 'almost' interchangeable. Running off to find a collage I once made of both hottie's pics. Nothing like a visual aide for comparison's sake:)

Ricrar! Those huge pics are amazing. I can see the man's pores, and he still looks gorgeous :) Not to mention his amazing eyes and those eyelashes.

I love the photoshoot with the blue suit and white shirt,

Thanks for Dr. Track in the white T-shirt also by the way-LOL.

Happy you enjoyed them, Musa:)

Did you hear about the recent tweet reading "lending clothes for shoot with Recognize Mag + Richard Armitage"

Yippee! sounds as though he gave an interview during the hobbit break. Hope so.

Last ep of Camelot is about to start. See latest poll asking which recent series served most to sex up history. Can's wait to see the results of that one.

Hey,

Just wanted to say I really enjoyed seeing all those new pix--and those huge images!!! I felt he was going to leap right through the computer screen (don't I wish).
I love his eyes-their color and shape, the brows and lashes . . . *sigh*

Also, thanks for linking to so many of my little vids. I really do have fun making them and people say they are helping ease them through the RA Drought. ;)

Don't be surprised if some of these photos appear in future efforts.

Ricrar, no I didn't see that tweet. Recognize Mag? Will be on the lookout :)

Hi everyone! teuchter, the body belongs to a country singer, I think he was, not sure though as I found the piccie some time ago surfing on the internet. As Ricrar said, Richard and Hugh´s bodies are almost interchangeable, lol, except for Hugh´s hairy chest, lol. It´s true, they could be brothers.
Ricrar, thanks so much for crediting me. So glad one of my manips is posted on your blog.
I really enjoy David Garret´s music btw. He´s a great musician and such a cutie. Huggles,
Richardbabe

Ricrar said...

Welcome Angie,

It's I who should thank you for all your wonderful RA videos. You have a knack for choosing music that's almost as stirring as the images we savor in each vid.

Agreed about Richard's eyes - they are mesmerizing and I believe along with his superb acting talents are one of the reasons Peter Jackson decided he'd make the perfect Thorin. Remember Frodo's expressive large blue eyes - then picture sexier ones accompanied by a broad-shouldered, muscular body and deep, dulcet-toned voice. *swoon* No doubt Thorin will do for The Hobbit what Guy did for the Robin Hood series - Make it memorable and a blockbuster hit with audiences.

Ricrar said...

Hi again Richardbabe,

Good to know you enjoy David Garrett as well:) Whenever I've posted one, I usually click it first thing then scroll and enjoy RA's photos. Yes, even after posting them, a slow scroll down the page is often the way I start the day.

Might the country singer be Josh ?...forgotten his last name. Will need to look him up again--he has blonde hair..another gorgeous male.

Hugh Jackman is really droolworthy after the waxman cometh..don't care for the hairy chest look. Why put in all those workouts and then not reveal the defined pecs. Females are ever so grateful when he takes the time to wax. Yes, it probably a nuisance but what about society's insistance that women's bods be smooth as a baby's bottom at all times? If we can do it - so can they..right? ;)

Ricrar said...

Musa,

Let me know if you find the Recognize Mag site. I'm curious about it as well. Hope you and everyone are enjoying your wkend.

Ricrar said...

Thanks carolyn..you're excellent at hunting down the treasure troves. The humungous pix can only be viewed a few at a time in order to avoid 'the vapors';)

Welcome Jo..there's nothing sinful about admiring the Creator's magnificent handiwork:) allelulia, allelulia let the holy anthem rise *thank you Lord*

Never heard of Recognize Mag before, but then I don't really go in for reading magazines (but I will make an exception if RA is in it). I wonder if it's a New Zealand magazine? Trust Richard to work when he should be resting. I heard that someone had tweeted that he had been seen at a play in Brighton. I'm not so sure that's genuine, he usually keeps to London theatres, but you never know. Lucky Brighton.
