The Hobbit Song Lyrics(thank you Musa) + Thorin Speaks & Sings in The Hobbit Trailer..(See details at link Below)

Someone who has already seen The Hobbit trailer described an ominous tone to the song(led by Thorin).  Which one might it be?.....Thank you Musa for providing the link..

Following might've been where the term "handsome devil" originated ;)

The holly bush growing in our front garden(see below) is now about 10yrs old.  It didn't start to display berries until 4yrs ago...this year's crop seems to be a brighter red and more plentiful than usual.  Just the sight of it makes me start to hum the tune to the ancient carol "the holly and the ivy"...

From Wikipedia..Lyrics
The holly and the ivy, when they are both full grown, Of all the trees that are in the wood, the holly bears the crown. Refrain: Oh, the rising of the sun and the running of the deer, The playing of the merry organ, sweet singing in the choir. The holly bears a blossom as white as lily flower, And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ to be our sweet saviour Refrain The holly bears a berry as red as any blood, And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ to do poor sinners good. Refrain The holly bears a prickle as sharp as any thorn, And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ on Christmas Day in the morn. Refrain The holly bears a bark as bitter as any gall, And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ for to redeem us all. Refrain

European Holly (Gaelic: cuileann) was sacred to druids[3] who associated it with the winter solstice, and for Romans, holly was considered the plant of Saturn[4]. European Holly has always traditionally had a strong association with Christmas. Henry VIII wrote a love song Green groweth the holly which alludes to holly and ivy resisting winter blasts and not changing their green hue "So I am and ever hath been Unto my lady true" [cough,,,cough..ahem..sorry..the irony is breathtaking:]

Not even Nottingham Castle basement is neglected when it comes to holiday lights.. casts a warm, cheerful setting for fratricide ;)

It's amazing - the older Daniel Radcliffe gets, the stronger his facial resemblance to RA..especially the piercing blue eyes...

I think you're absolutely right that the woman with RA in 2010 is the same one that was in the play with him in 2002. Great detective work both you and Jonia :)

I said 2010 but the photo was from 2005?

Hello RicRAr :) You have very probably right that this is this same woman :) Her name is Joanna Bending.
Wonderful match of facts RicRAr :)

Hi Musa & Jonia,

While watching the play photos, that Jonia brilliantly uncovered, couldn't shake the feeling I'd seen the blonde woman somewhere else. Apparently they attended the charitable event together, or perhaps she was a member of the organizing cmte at that time.

On a different topic, someone recently suggested Richard would make the perfect Lucifer in the upcoming film 'Paradise Lost.' The latest poll here asks if you agree.

IMO, RA would probably be very happy to play satan - the zenith of conflicted characters.

Topic #3 :) I read somewhere that The Hobbit trailer might play before the new Sherlock Holmes film, which I believe opens tomorrow.

Oh heavens, he would make a great Satan. The fallen angel . . . the great tempter. Indeed, the conflict within that soul.

I am still recovering from my car accident and don't know if I will be able to make it to the movie theatre to see Sherlock or Tintin. I am going to have to dope myself up and take lots of pillows for the two-hour ride to my sister's home for Christmas.
I did hear that Thorin both speaks and sings in it (be still my heart).

Hey there Angie, sorry to hear about your accident & sincerely hope your discomfort doesn't spoil the Christmas visit to your sister's.

As far as RA playing Lucifer, the over-used term "handsome devil" would definitely apply in this case. See the new image added above.

I'd noticed your RA video fervor seemed to be reignited during the past few wks. Apparently your misfortune was rightly or wrongly our good fortune as we prepare for Christmas.

Happy Holidays to you and your family.
