WooHoo! Hobbit Photo + Strike Back News + Best Love Songs for You & Your Valentine - See if You Agree With the Choices

Just accessed twitter and lo and behold what was waiting but a NZ news article with accompanying photo of THE HOBBIT cast...
Whoa! Hotness quotient X 3...but one stands out..as always;)

So, how close is the look above to Thorin?  Believe it's obvious he'll wear a wig, otherwise wouldn't RA have allowed his hair to grow since last ep of Spooks 9?...of course, there might've been SB shoots since then.  Either way, you'd expect he'd currently have longer hair, that is unless it's going to be covered with a full wig.  Are we looking at the full extent of Thorin's beard/mustache?  Hope so....rather nice, isn't it;)
For comparison:
RA is also in the pic below - in the back - nothing reticent about the 3 actors in front, is there? - humility is such a lovable quality - especially for one of the stars of a major movie :)

Get the Best Love Songs for Every Sign
Make sure you're in tune on Valentine's Day - by Kim Rogers-Gallagher

Love, especially the romantic kind, is one of the most wonderful and exciting parts of being human -- as well as one of the most difficult. It certainly does "take two" -- the trick is to get and keep those two on the same page. That's why so many different types of love songs have been written, about everything from new love to forever love to unrequited love.

The list of love songs is as endless as the feelings love inspires. Here's a peek at the tunes each horoscope sign likes to hear, no matter what they're feeling.

LOTR

THE HOBBIT: an EvenstarCrystal vision..

Aries (March 21 - April 19)
This fiery sign doesn't go for your basic Air Supply type stuff -- and don't ever, ever play Barry for them (Manilow, that is ... Barry White will do fine, especially with champagne and chocolates). In particular, you Rams will like love songs that have a rock and roll beat to them. Something that reflects your Fire element -- like Fire by the Pointer Sisters, a classic that will rev you up in all the right departments, or Fire on High by ELO. Oh, and if you're angry? Turn right to Love Stinks (J Geils Band) or I Will Survive (Gloria Gaynor).

STRIKE BACK: Both RA_Central and richardarmitagenet.com have tweeted following news:

[Looks promising, however, can’t help but wonder exactly how large RA’s role might be in SB2. Despite impressions to the contrary, he’s only one man and TH promises to make lengthy demands on his time. In addition, two other actors will share the 10ep adventures -- IMO, the size of Richard’s role has to be considerably reduced. Fingers crossed this assumption is incorrect. Really want to be wrong about it:]
Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus natives play for keeps in all departments, and when it comes to romantic love, the person you love belongs to you (in your mind, at least!). You, Taurus, are the personal property of Venus, the goddess of love, so the perks of being your companion are excellent. Still, there are two romantic songs that immediately spring to mind when it comes to the type of love Taurus feels: Always and Forever (Luther Vandross) and Let's Stay Together (Al Green).

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Okay, so everything you've ever read about your horoscope sign says that you're fickle. Well, that's not exactly true. You can be as faithful and reliable as a Taurus, provided you're amused. And that's not as tough as it sounds. You're tough, but you're easy, too, as long as you have a mental equal who understands your need to banter and play. So let's start with Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood (Animals) for obvious reasons, and to dispel all those rumors about that fickleness, how about Unforgettable (Nat King Cole), a tribute to the one ultra-special person they truly must be to have landed you!

Or Give a Little Love by campcurry123

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Your horoscope sign is famous for many things, but what all your traits have in common is an incomparable talent for expressing love and affection. Even romantically, you do it through nurturing, protecting and letting the lucky object of your attention know, in many ways, that you cherish them more than anyone or anything else on the planet. There are two songs that really work for you: Love Me Tender by none other than Elvis "The King" Presley, and Lady, the ultimate tribute to a loved one, by Lionel Ritchie.

Leo (July 23 - Aug. 22)
Every horoscope sign has its own way of loving, and their own way of treating their loved one. But you, Leo, think of love the same way you think of everything else: as a magnificent, noble, elegant gift -- the best and truest thing any two people can exchange. For that reason, there are two songs that suit your particular style of loving just perfectly: The Glory of Love by Bette Midler, and Shining Star by Earth, Wind and Fire, which describes your beloved as the Sun, the center of life itself -- and Astrology’s very own "shining star."

Virgo (Aug. 23 - Sept. 22)
You approach love the same way you approach everything else, Virgo, and it's all reflected beautifully by What's Simple is True (Jewel). In many ways, it's an ode to the way you live your life: by the basics. You work very hard to keep your life drama-free. No scenes, no crises and as few arguments as possible. You're also famous for being quite picky, and in the department of romance, that's something other people really should learn. Once you do find your soul mate, there's only one song you'd dedicate to them: Waiting for a Girl [or Guy] Like You by Foreigner.

Libra (Sept. 23 - Oct. 22)
In all things romantic, your objective remains the same, Libra: to find the right person, entice them to get to know you better and then, if and when things work out, to romance them better than anyone else. The end goal is to find and keep your soul mate. The songs that come to mind for you are Your Song by Elton John, and I Will Always Love You by Dolly Parton (and many others), a classic that's inspired more than one proposal.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 - Nov. 21)
Say the word "sexy" to any group of astrologers, and their immediate, unanimous response will be "Scorpio." Obviously, any love song you identify with absolutely must have sexy words and a sexy beat. No sweet stuff here -- just a potent, throbbing message, and lyrics that don't play games. In that department, there are two songs that immediately come to mind: Private Dancer by Tina Turner, and Sexual Healing by Marvin Gaye. Play those for a new flame. If they appreciate the message, great. If they play them for you first, pick up your jaw discreetly and start thinking about two-bedroom apartments.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 21)
You're a free-wheeling kind of soul, Sagittarius. You always have been and you always will be. For that reason, there are very few love songs that appeal to you. They've got to be the kind that reflect: (1) your love of freedom and (2) your secret wish to have the absolutely perfect travel partner on your arm as you patrol the planet looking for the next adventure. So, Cowboy, Take Me Away by The Dixie Chicks is perfect for category 1, and Almost Paradise (by several artists) is tailor-made for number 2.
[As this is my sign, feel I can be a fairly good judge of these choices--booo!;)  Besides, there's a never-ending list of love songs that appeal to me.  Therefore, have made substitutions with 2 favs.  First one qualifies since RA's stirring reading makes it sound romantically melodic]
The Poem 'Song' by Ted Hughes...

Kiss me, Oh Kiss Me by aryabodhisattva--G&M didn't have a happy ending but this song does..

Capricorn (Dec. 22 - Jan. 19)
Your horoscope sign's symbol is the steady Mountain Goat, who easily navigates even the most perilous ridge, showing its penchant for living life on the edge -- but safely. So while you take your chances, especially with romance, they're planned and deliberate. You wait until it's safe, then go all out to scale that mountain. For all those reasons, Ain't No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terell is a classic that suits you, your inner desires and your ambition to succeed once you've set any goal.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 - Feb. 18)
I'm Real by Jennifer Lopez -- to be honest, it's the best song ever written about your horoscope sign, and you should hand-deliver it to anyone you're initially drawn to. The main reason is one line: "What you get is what you see." You, Aquarius, are the most open, honest and genuine sign out there. Another great song for your sign, The Closer I Get to You by Luther Vandross, should also be hand-delivered, but not until you're sure that he or she is the real deal. You know how you get with the independence thing, so until you are sure your love will be returned and your love of freedom will be respected, song number two will have to wait.

Pisces (Feb. 19 - March 20)
The three Water signs are the most sympathetic, understanding and warm-hearted of the twelve horoscope signs, and you're the eldest of the bunch -- so if anyone knows how to express love (sometimes to a fault) it's definitely you, Pisces. That makes choosing love songs a tough job -- mostly because no matter what feeling the song describes, you've been there. Dozens appeal to your tender heart, especially when you're madly, passionately in love, and absolutely spellbound by your beloved. Take, for example, The Wonder of Love by Elvis. Dream Weaver by Gary Wright reflects your spiritual side and your love of all things magical.

Interesting. I'm a Capricorn, but I really prefer the songs chosen for Sagitarius. Wonder if that whole "you aren't the sign you thought you were" thing is coming through on this one?

We can switch, Laura - I'm Sagittarius:)

Tried to find corresponding RA vids but that's simply too time consuming. Very powerful love song is Barry White's My First, My Last, My Everything..almost certain it's an RA fan vid but cannot find it. Maybe the vidder removed it.

I'm an Aries and I agree with a few things: Barry White, definetely YES and Barry Manilow definetely NO :)

Just as a curiosity, the song "Kiss Me, oh Kiss Me" is by a portuguese singer/songwriter called David Fonseca. He's pretty big around here (and also gorgeous)! Look him up on YouTube, you won't be disappointed :)

Ricrar said...

Yes, BEG, I'm aware of Fonseca's background after spending some time, at least a yr ago, looking for it. Love his singing voice and that song in particular. Do you recommend other fav songs of his?

RiCrAr,

Any idea what Richard's sign of Leo is compatible with? The description above sounds wonderful! I'm the sign of Cancer, which sounds pretty okay, not sure about the music though. I'm not much of an Elvis fan, before my time I'm afraid, (although "blue suede shoes" always gets me toe-tapping).

Sue, I wrote a lengthy reply earlier to you and blogger zapped it. grrrrr...as DH would say "life is hard and then you die" ;)

Will post more details about RA's Leo zodiac sign. Last Aug during his birthday season I'd discovered for first time that Sagittarius is supposedly compatible w/Leo. They're both fire signs. Screamed it from the mountain tops at that time - amazing you didn't hear it way across the pond. hehe

DH is also a cancer and lives up to the description above. He's one in a million and I've always realized it - have tried to express my appreciation in return. I'm sure RA doesn't mind in that regard by assisting in the process;)

Better post quick or risk being zapped again.

Hobbit news, yay!!! OMG, I love a man with a beard and he looks AMAZING!

Ricrar: I'm glad you've heard of Fonseca :) Two of my favourite songs are "Hold Still" (with another portuguese singer - Rita Redshoes) and "U Know Who I Am".

Now I'm going to read the Hobbit news :)

My fave piece of music at the moment is "Coming Home" from Les Mis, sung by Alfie Boe, who is a tenor and has a wonderful voice.

It also seems some of the dwarves in The Hobbit will be exercising those tonsils too! I wonder if Richard will be singing and what he'll sound like? If it's anything like his speaking voice it will be spellbinding!
