Bonus pic to celebrate what could be promising news from Judith who explains in the comment box that Daniel Craig recently signed to do a film other than his usual major brand name.  Perhaps we'll finally get a chance to see 007Sexy Armitage in that role.  We've gone from encouraging votes in the Hunky of the Month poll to envisioning Richard as James Bond.  Another peaks & valleys ride:)  A sterling grey sport coat & BMW have a Bondesque aura when worn by the right actor...

******
Almost embarrassed to post the following:)  It's the trailer to Andrew Lincoln's 'The Living Dead', however it appears to be of poor quality.  The explanation is it was recorded - probably by someone's cell phone - inside a conference room(or makeshift theater) at the recent Comic Con event.  That's the only place the trailer has so far been shown to the public. Andrew has plenty of screentime - his zombie friends don't appear until almost the end; and the audience seems to appreciate all the horror.  Lincoln's  heavy stubble is attractive, plus appropriate for any self-respecting horse riding, 10gal hat wearing, western US sheriff

Oh happy day! Daniel Craig has signed on to star in Dragon Tattoo. RA now has a great shot at being the best Bond ever. Thanks to MI-5 he has the street creed on being a spy, and Strike Back has made him an action hero! Not to mention the super sexy voice, and his tall dark and handsome good looks. He is very nearly what Ian Fleming describes for 007's physical description ^_^

judith, if Ian Fleming had met Richard, he might've employed the modicum of remedial character description necessary for the perfect Bond;)

Thx for finding the promising news. Perhaps the only thing necessary is for that franchise to get financially back on track, in order for us to enjoy 00Sexy Armitage as Bond:)

Time for RA as Porter to make an appearance in his natty grey sport coat/sweater along side a sterling grey BMW. Very Bondesque.

<3 00Sexy Armitage! Doesn't he drink vodka?

Ricrar said...

Yes, RA has said he enjoys vodka martinis. That might've been around the time he recorded a vodka voiceover for one of the major mfrs. Did you hear the ad? Listening to it had the effect of at least 3 vodka martinis without even drinking one - intoxication by voice. HA!....oooh, somehow that phrase is unsettling, isn't it;)

Need to think of a way to include the Bond possibility in a poll. Let me know if one comes to mind:)

What fun!! I don't know what screen caps you have so I have tried to offer a few different suggestions.

Best reason why RA should be next 007-

He already has a Savile Row tailor-RA as LN leaning on gorgeous convertible while talking on cell phone-season 7 MI-5

He is an extraordinary card player- Guyis kinda snarling and throwing down a bag of silver on gaming table in Larner's Ring episode, RH S2.

He already has a license to kill-maybe a hot scene of him aiming his gun from SB

He is a consumate ladies man-JT and Margaret kissing at N&S train station or he and Marian when he is kissing her hair

He is used to torture-JP roasting in blazing sun, LN being waterboarded or Thornton's famous "look back at me" pic!

lol hope this helps

Great suggestions judith.

Will take awhile to assemble the pics - plus ep3 of White Collar w/cutie RAjunior will be on in 20min.

Soon as both of those are finished, will post the 'Judith-Bond poll':) hmmm... there's something for you to dream about - w/RA as 007 of course. You'll need to learn to mix a mean vodka-martini;) teehee

As he walks in the front door at the end of another tough 007 day of combatting evil, the velvety voice will purrr "I'm home dear" and you'll appear with a tray of fresh mixed cocktails, dressed in.....well, you can take over from there. *wink, wink*

I prefer a gin martini myself but I will make the man whatever he wishes!

"A dry martini," [Bond] said. "One. In a deep champagne goblet."
"Oui, monsieur."
"Just a moment. Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?"
"Certainly, monsieur." The barman seemed pleased with the idea.
"Gosh, that's certainly a drink," said Leiter.
Bond laughed. "When I'm...er...concentrating," he explained, "I never have more than one drink before dinner. But I do like that one to be large and very strong and very cold and very well-made. I hate small portions of anything, particularly when they taste bad. This drink's my own invention. I'm going to patent it when I can think of a good name."
—Ian Fleming, Casino Royale

Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your great blogspot *_*

DH has read most Fleming novels. Today he enjoys Robt Ludlum.

My 1st choice would be a slice of lime rather than lemon. If Key Lime Pie is on the dessert menu, cannot resist. For a few yrs started evening's out w/club soda & lime twist before eventually moving on to something stronger. Making myself thirsty:) Fleming's "I hate small portions of anything" is a titillating line.

Au contraire Judith, it is I who should thank you for the wonderful poll idea (& also for giving me an excuse to use one of my few French phrases;)

Well, the woods are silent, dark & deep but I have promises to keep---about a certain poll;)

Off to gather RA pics...tough job but someone has to do it.

Sweet dreams, Mrs Bond...hehe

I see from the news this morning that there will be a second series of Strike Back and that Richard may be coming to the USA!

Ricrar said...

Yes, Musa, I've just noticed the great news as well.

Will take a moment to post it before returning to RA in BONDage poll pics---wonder if we'll find Porter strapped to anything other than a female in SB2? ;) Some fans are no doubt hopeful. The time-tested pairing is my preference.

I must admit when I discovered that Daniel Craig was going to star in the US version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" (plus he will also play the male lead in adaptations of the other two novels that complete Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy) I thought hey up this could be a good opportunity for Richard to take over the role of James Bond and make it his own!

Glad to hear that it looks likely that there will be another Strike Back (did we ever doubt it?)

Ricrar said...

Sky still has not made an official announcement about SB@, have they Sue? Perhaps the publication of possible shooting locations was their subtle way of doing so??

From what I've read, it appears the Bond trademark is having financial difficulties. Maybe Richard would rather not get involved until solutions are in place. While promoting SB1 he sounded very enthusiastic about reassuming the Porter character asap, didn't he. Looks as though his wish has been granted.

If the US is one of the locations, Lady Liberty will heave another deep sigh:)
There's a compelling reason why John Porter needs to assimilate into the Pennsylvania Dutch population--in order to identify an evil terrorist masquerading as an Amish farmer(the latter took a British tourist hostage:) haha Desperate to locate Porter close to home...simply to express a warm welcome to the usa, of course. *cough, cough*

Can I get a "Witness"? A movie I have watched sooo many times but of which I never tire!! If RA could work with a director of the caliber of Peter Weir it would be wonderful. I read where our Guy would like to get behind the camera and I know that Weir allowed Harrison Ford to practically direct parts of that movie which is why I think that it is marvelous.

Ricrar said...

Peter Weir also directed 'The Year of Living Dangerously' - exciting movie..very exotic.

Judith, Witness is one of about 5movies that I've watched more than once...(Disclaimer: not including RA's dvds:) Primary reason is the location--PA Amish area is only about 40mi from here. Weir did a brilliant job of portraying the authentic Amish culture. We often take a drive down that way to enjoy the bucolic landscape, shop in their charming stores, enjoy traditional dishes like shoo-fly pie.

The people are very polite, wear home-made clothing, drive horse-drawn carriages. Children smile at motorists from back seats w/scrubbed, freckled faces wearing traditional straw hats. A day in Amish country transports you back at least 1.5 centuries.

They have their critics who claim the lifestyle cramps freedom. However, as teens every member of the younger generation is given a chance to taste modern life, and then make individual decisions whether to remain part of that community or not--that fact negates those criticisms for me. No one is forced to stay if they prefer to leave.

Of course, modernity does lure many away which is perfectly understandable. What would we do without computers? Sometimes a simple life looks deceptive until it's actually put into practice. I'm certain, for me, it would quickly lose it's charm:)

Judith Johnson said...

I have visited Lancaster county myself, the Amish do have an other world quality about them. I saw a documentary about the teens called Devil's Playground!

If you like Witness, you should really seek out The Outsider which is a remake with Naomi Watts and Tim Daly. It is so good and they are wonderful together. The original story is The Badman and The Angel with John Wayne made in the early 1950s. It improves with each retelling, maybe our Guy can snare the lead in the next version!
