Game of Thrones

Could someone please convince Sean Bean he's entitled to retire and take time to smell the roses:)  Maybe with Sean out of the competition, another one of our fav actors would win this type of major role...Of course, DH will be very happy to see Col Sharpe has found new employment - he has his priorities, I have mine - would much rather watch RA in the following;) haha...

Sadly Sean Bean has his LOTR street creed plus he was really hot hot in Lady Chatterly. Glad to Jennifer Ehle is working.

judith, it appears Richard is too young for the Eddard Stark role in Game of Thrones. The only other cast member, besides Sean, that I recognize is Harry Lloyd from RH.

The 10epi HBO special will begin early 2011. It sounds interesting - ordered the novel today to add to DH's Father's Day gifts this Sun. We both enjoy historic epics, although this one sounds more like fantasy than fact.

Well that's probably why they didn't use him or else he was shooting Strike Back.

It is a pretty distinguished cast-Jennifer Ehle was Lizzie in P&P, Lena Headey was in another movie with Jennifer called Possession which also starred Jeremey Northam. Ms Headey was also Gerard Butler's queen in 300

Peter Dinklage has been in a lot of movies but I recognize him from 30 Rock when he was Liz Lemon's boyfriend for a couple of episodes.

I recognize Iain Glen, he was the villain in Lara Croft Tomb Raider.

Many of the cast have been on Dr. Who, it would be great if RA could get a guest appearance on that show, also if he could do a couple of smaller indie type films,
Frozen was done some time ago now.

judith, I've tried more than once to get interested in the long-running Dr Who, to no avail. Isn't it sci-fi? That would explain why it leaves me cold. An RA appearance would definitely provide the necessary incentive, but that's true of almost everything. haha;)

It is sci-fi which I am not fond of and I only watched it initially because Alice is dressed as the
10th Dr. when she is Harry and Geraldine's bridesmaid and I didn't understand what the Daleks were!!

Happily, I discovered that the Time Lord's 9th incarnation was the luvly and wonderful Chris Eccleston, so then I was forced to watch the entire season of course. I don't much care for it but I have since come to understand what a revered and terrifying children's show it was in earlier years (I feel sure RA probably watched it as a child). Now the Time Lord/Dr. has become younger and younger with each incarnation and I am not really sure if it is a children's show anymore. Much like the schism in RH!!

Sounds as tho' Dr Who had the same sort of seismic cultural effect on the UK as Star Trek had in the US. A show that provided a common touchstone between several generations.

MASH & Friends also belong to that exclusive club here...with constant reruns.
