Lucas will get some sleep once he's finished applying tough love to that pillow:)

GAME of THRONES:  How often do we get to observe some daily thoughts & the mantra of a writer who is working on the 5th volume of a 7 book series - GRR Martin's Song of Ice & Fire?...

>August - Aug. 4th, 2010 at 12:06 AM

August? August? AUGUST??? How the hell did it get to be August? What happened to July? Who took June?

Argh.

Well, I had to turn over the page on my World Wildlife Fund calendar. The big gorilla has been replaced by elephants. But Kong is not yet subdued. So much for omens.

Perhaps for the next month it is my fate to wrestle Dumbo. How am I gonna beat Dumbo? He FLIES.

I actually had a very good day today, writing about a character who wasn't originally supposed to be a POV, but has turned out to be sharpest sword I've got for slicing through the Meereenese knot. I'd feel very good about that, except somehow it has become AUGUST. With worldcon bearing down on me like a freight train.

Sorry. Sorry. Don't mean to rave. Got to remember my mantra. One page at a time. One sentence at a time. One word at a time.

Bye for now. I have to feed the elephant.

Mood: frustrated<

First time I'm the first one to comment...well, there's a first time for everything:)

Musa, could the POV that was not intended to be one, that Geo mentioned in today's post, possibly be Stannis Baratheon???? Ooooh, hope so. This could be the start of something big IF it is him. Guess we won't know until book 5 has been published...UNLESS posters at his journal manage to squeeze the id out of George. They'll be almost as curious as we are about this character who has become his sharpest knife for cutting the tape necessary for the remaining saga to unfold.

It almost has to be Stannis, doesn't it? Who else has survived as far as book 5, AND has been a major player from the start, plus has not been a POV?

Tomorrow's comments to Geo should really be interesting.

Thank you so much, RiCrAr! Lucas asleep is so lovely that I don't have words to describe how I feel. Bad boy John Mulligan and Guy are a close second. I'll ignore Russell Brand.

Happy you enjoyed it tyme4t...there are other equally stirring shots from that scene, however, they need to be released in small doses or the effect might cause viewers to permanently stammer..guh,guh,guh:)

Those were the skeletal Lucas days...shoulders, arms etc never seemed to shrink as badly as his ribcage. Fortunately the restorative powers of chocolate donuts quickly returned the gorgeous frame (that contains an equally lovely human being).

My pleasure, Enrich...decided you were right about Brand - he's gone. I've never heard him speak--so will reserve final judgement as to whether he's humorous or not until that occurs at least once--it could easily be a first & last situation:)

As much as I disliked "the Sarah" she did at least allow us to watch that gorgeous body of work known as Lucas under those blue sheets.... *picturing scene with tattooed back* ok technically he wasn't "sleeping" but he was in bed!

Sounds as though we'll see another romance for Lucas - or a flame rekindled - in S9. Can't wait. It's been 3mos since SB...have to get our fix on a regular basis:)

Do we need more pics of RA characters in bed? Let's see...Paul, hmmm...he & Alona had their in-depth conversations there. Wasn't very satisfactory for him, but we really couldn't complain.

John Mulligan was a charming houseguest--suppose she didn't have a guestroom;)

Then there was Ian - well, the poor man didn't have any choice when she brazenly pushed her way into his room.haha

Believe we owe a deep debt of gratitude to female writers who always seemed to make certain we were satisfied when it came to RA characters. Who wrote Strike Back?...a man. Case closed. The only bedroom scene was, well--not what we've become accustomed to. He was awfully cute taking the ink blot test..hehe Richard was probably very happy the spontaneous combustion this time was more in the male bastions of shoot 'em up--get the baddies type action. He's been so good to us over the yrs - he deserves at least one project almost totally free of yearning, burning unrequited love, doesn't he.

Hi, I found your blog by accident and I was wondering -- how are you watching Strike Back in the US? You are in the US right? I have AT&T Uverse and I keep trying to find out if it will be shown anywhere I can see it, but no luck. And neither libraries nor Netflix have it.

Hi Michelle,

I've explained in the post above, following the photos, how it's possible to watch Strike Back in the US.

It's an action packed story starring our fav hunk.

How did you discover Richard?
