Hmmm...Almost August 22nd..what does that signify?? Seems it might be someone's Birthday :)

Well...a deep subject.  I've learned more about astrology in the past 24hrs than ever before.  It seems the study of the zodiac was even more popular a couple centuries ago than today.

After reading my birthsign - Sagittarius(the archer) - is rulled by Pluto, decided to check it out since being ruled by anything or anyone is not usually in my nature:) However, upon viewing the following piece of artwork of Pluto painted 200yrs ago,  I'm definitely warming up to the idea of Pluto influencing my stars...(will whisper in his ear that a shave & haircut would update his image as a modern god---everything else is certainly in order:)

Jupiter and Thetis (Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres) -  inspired by the ancient Greco-Roman deities Jupiter, Venus, Athena and Bacchus.

The gods, goddesses, nymphs, satyrs, monsters and mortals of Greek and Roman mythology were once near-compulsory subjects for artists, with many versions created through the years. Such themes became less common as art took on more personal significance and as classical training gave way to newer methods, but certain 19th- and even later 20th century mythological depictions offer a distinct perspective on some very time-tested tales.

Zeus and Jupiter -  Greek Zeus had a counterpart named Jupiter in Roman mythology. Master of the thunderbolt, Zeus presided over Mount Olympus and attempted to keep all the other gods and his fiery wife Hera in line.

While French Neoclassic painter Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres took pride in maintaining academic standards, his 1811 Jupiter and Thetis has a striking, innovative quality. Ingres’ Jupiter is impassively powerful on his throne surrounded by clouds. His calm, regal posture makes him seem more formidable than often too-dramatically depicted mythic deities, and Ingres also has the physical figure of Jupiter impressively diminishing Thetis as she pleads on behalf of her son, the doomed warrior Achilles.

[Jupiter is the ruling planet of Sagittarius, and, for many astrologers, also the ruler of Pisces, and is exalted in Cancer. In Roman mythology, Jupiter is the ruler of the gods and their guardian and protector, and his symbol is the thunderbolt. In the same way, the planet Jupiter is the king of the other planets, a giant in size with spectacular, brightly colored clouds and intense storms.  Astronomers believe that it plays an important protecting role in using its massive gravity to capture or expel from the solar system many comets and asteroids that would otherwise threaten Earth and the inner planets.  Jupiter takes 11.9 years to orbit the Sun, spending almost an earth year (361 days) in each sign of the zodiac.]  (excerpt from Wikipedia)

Happy Birthday Richard Armitage!
What I hope professionally for Richard in the coming year is to have his dream of playing Richard III come true. I hope his project is financed and he gets to show the world how talented he truly is. (I also still hope he gets cast as Stannis Baratheon in GoT, with a full head of hair). Personally I wish him happiness and contentment in his personal life, whatever that may be for him.
Selfishly for me I hope he does come to Washington DC or New York to film an episode of SB!
As a Libra, I need to look at the Libra/Leo love connection horoscopes more closely :)
As an older woman I can say, Richard, 39 is still young, believe me because it's true!

Those are lovely and loving wishes for him from you Musa.

I've started Clash of Kings and am thoroughly enjoying envisioning Richard as Stannis, although he is painted as terribly sober. Of course, Guy wasn't exactly a barrel of laughs either, was he:)

The physical description of Stannis is mindful of RA's tall, broad shouldered personna..also his forceful, take charge demeanor. As for the follicle challenge, it says a ring of dark hair remains despite the fact he's only 35yrs old---still convinced wearing his crown most of the time would compensate for it.

Melisandre is about to make her appearance...hope she manages to warm him up. *wink*

Did you read this evening's twitter celebration for Lucas North? That group(he has over 500 followers) is up for the silliness...hehe..at one point Lucas said he was covered with lipstick:)
