Richard Armitage:Desolation of Smaug Artwork(see link below-Thorin one up on Smaug) + Almost a Given You're Descended from Charlemagne(see link) + Guy Friday + Really Random Thursday

New artwork for The Desolation of Smaug..
Sexiest voices:  Of course, we all know RA is #1 but won't be greedy, at least we squeaked by Smaug this time..

Our crazy uncle in proverbial attic is Charlemagne:
EXCERPT:

This NationalGeographic.com article explains how there comes a point in history when "all individuals who have any descendants among the present-day individuals" (that's us) "are actually ancestors of all present-day individuals."

and "all Europeans alive today have among their ancestors the same man or woman who lived around 1400 ... About a thousand years ago, a peculiar situation prevailed: 20 percent of the adult Europeans alive in 1000 would turn out to be the ancestors of no one living today (that is, they had no children or all their descendants eventually died childless); each of the remaining 80 percent would turn out to be a direct ancestor of every European living today."
So anyone of European descent is probably related to Charlemagne.."

The dark horse in the race?? That sounds like the kind of joke I would tell :). Love the new photos, as always. I LOVE the white oxford photo. Something about that one always just works.

What is RA pensive to beaming about?? Could we be hearing about the newest role soon? Inquiring minds, and so forth.....

I really, really, really like that blue sweater/jacket in the last post. Very Nordic. All the new NYC photos are just awesome. Nice to have "the most recent" look. :) :)

Hope you're having a very nice week, Ricrar! Cheers!!! :) :)

Happy to hear you enjoyed that lame joke Cleo;D Couldn't resist.
Richard grew attached to Richie after a rough start to their relationship. More than once he's told about Guy's horse bolting and crew members yelling stop! He alsways adds with a chuckle, "I really did want to stop." Remember when he told Martin he also had a hair thing going with his Hobbit pony, as he threw the imaginary Thorin locks behind his head.

Still no news although the Into the Storm director today on twitter said he's still applying the final touches to that film. After receiving numerous tweets from RA fans he added #thearmitagearmyhatesme haha

Oh, Ricrar. Tell him we don't hate him. We just want MORE-RA-ALL-THE-TIME. Or all RA all the time. That would work, too....just fine, in fact.

Yes, the bond between a horse and its rider is special and important. If you don't have it, you won't have one or the other -- one or the other will end up on the ground. (That is less pleasant than one might think.) Hope his horse "Richie" ended up treating our elegant hero appropriately!

Can't wait for more Into The Storm news. Glad, at least, that we have the Desolation of Smaug opening soon....well, soon-ish. :)

Cheers, Ricrar! ;)

Don't forget our dear uncle Charle. Apparently he's an ancestor we share with Richard. How desperate is that of me - to find something in common with our fav actor. Enjoy your holiday wkend, Cleo.

I will aspire never to forget, Ricrar! I think Charlemagne may live in North Florida now....

:) :)

Funny that we're all related to him. He must have been a busy guy. Looks very heroic in the statue above.

Hope you're having a great weekend. ALL THINGS ARMITAGE.

Earth's population didn't start to rapidly compound until the Industrial Revolution. That's when all those inventive, productive business owners provided the means by which families were, for the first time in history, able to survive through harsh times.

Was a very nice wkend Cleo, hope your's was as well. Nothing new to report other than Richard is among Brit actors chosen with sexiest voices.

I had a fine weekend, Ricrar, thank you. I'm glad you did as well. Lovely holiday weekend with some very happy ponies for the reprieve in the heat.

No surprise on the sexy voice rating. My only surprise would be if he was not ranked #1!!! I noticed that he is in the running for sexiest man alive, too. How's that coming along? When will we know?? I was very surprised by some of the guys in the running...they looked barely out of diapers. But, then, I am middle aged.....I suppose.....

Alas, for a beautiful and stately gentleman of substance! I hope they will pick RA instead of the newest youth on the block....so to speak..... Someone with a track record, and dignity. No one else really fits the bill.

Cheers, Ricrar. Happy week!
