Last ep of the series Camelot aired in US on Fri.  We're hoping there will be a second season, but it seems a bit later than usual for the network to make the greenlight announcment.
The following review reminds me a great deal of a few Spooks reviews in the past.  The writer skewers, ridicules, calls the thought of Camelot laughable (he's totally wrong but British, therefore has the right to say it;) and then in the next to last paragraph declares the show is wonderful entertainment and he'll definitely be watching:)  Doesn't the nasty cynicism of many reviewers often leave you with a bad impression of the profession in general?  They seem to think their job is to be as pretentious as possible - posture themselves as brilliant oracles who honor us and the world with the opportunity to read their wisdom. *it drips with such snarkiness that it's at least worth a few chuckles*

SPOILER Alert: Do Not Read Any Further, if you've not already seen ep 9 -- interesting comments by James Hibberd, Entertainment Wkly:

OMG Do I must dump my hubby?:D

haha..Never, Joanna. You're just reminding yourself why you appreciate your hubby so much. RA is keeping marriages together all over the globe, whether he realizes it or not:) Ya know, I think he'd enjoy looking at it that way. Doing his part to better serve mankind by inspiring females to jumpstart their relationships with their partners;)

Isn't it exciting to see his name on the Captain America poster...even if not Heinz Kruger. Well, I think the hand with the gun top of CA title may be HK?

Hi Sue,

His early school classmates called him "Concorde"- LOL
I didn't know that one.

Wouldn't we all love to see that scrapbook of RA's work going back to his Pattison College days. Hope his mother is buying a new scrapbook for The Hobbit :)

Concorde?? why did his classmates call him concorde Sue?

I take it sticking two fingers up is equivalent to saying F you? Sticking one finger up is considered an obscene gesture in the US...If it's the 'middle' finger on both hands, I suppose that qualifies as twice the insult.

Musa, I think you're probably right about the gun being held by Kruger. Maybe they didn't want anyone on the poster who would compete w/Chris Evans looks:)

BTW, I just posted your cute RA humor video above. It didn't show up on my youtube search until today.

RiCrAr,

They called him Concorde because of his large (but gorgeous) nose.

Yes two fingers does mean f you. We also use the one finger gesture here too, usually with the phrase "swivel on that".

Anon,

Friends Reunited is a website where old friends, such as classmates, work pals etc. can get in touch with each other and let them know what they're up to.

I've just heard the terrible news about the quake in NZ and wanted to say that I hope everyone in Kiwi land is safe and well and my thoughts are will them all (especially a certain little dwarf called Thorin of course).

It also seems that Quantas that has flights from certain parts of Australia and New Zealand has had to cancel flights because of the volcano ash cloud.

Gosh it doesn't rain for what it pours does it?

My pleasure, Musa..he has such a sweet self-deprecating sense of humor - I really enjoyed your vid:)

Ahh, Sue, therefore Richard had good reason to be somewhat self-conscious about it, if insensitive teens had already teased him. He learned to cope with it and, with his mum's encouragement, decided he wasn't going to change permanently his basic self no matter what profession he chose in life. That difficult decision no doubt helped build more confidence plus a stronger more positive self image.

My niece had a pronounced overbite and was also teased in early school years. The worst teaser had a very silly sounding surname. She told him that anyone with his name didn't have a leg to stand on when it came to ridicule. She added "braces will straighten my teeth but you'll live w/your name forever" :) She wore her braces for two yrs and has had gorgeous pearly whites ever since. Her wedding day is scheduled for this Nov--busy days of preparation are getting ever more hectic as it grows near. There will be over 200 guests..large celebration with family & friends.

Has anyone seen anything about the recent tweet stating RA attended a play in Brighton?

Oh no!..not another earthquake for NZ, Sue. I need to check today's news..had not heard about it.
